CFC YFL Summer Youth Camp 2012: Life. Love. Mission.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

This summer camp was held last May 05-06, 2012 at San Antonio Elementary School, San Pedro, Laguna. It’s been sooooo long since I last attended and served at a youth camp. I really missed how it felt to see those new young faces of teens we are evangelizing, how it felt to serve God through a youth camp, how it felt to entertain them with our silly jokes, how it felt to be young again? Haha! How it felt to serve food to the participants with a smile on our faces and them smiling back at us saying, “thank you po”. Simple and sweet, indeed. πŸ™‚

I have to say, we are reunited with our old friends because of this youth camp. We were able to catch things up and we, as ELders (Not the elder as in old, but ELder as in Experienced Leader), think that the new camp servants and/or the new leaders may need our help for some guidelines on what to do with camp jitters. It is our duty to help them to be the future leaders of the team and for them to learn also. πŸ™‚

We had our meetings and some other preparations that are needed for us to be fully ready for the Spiritual battle between good and evil. Of course, the good always win. πŸ˜‰ We meet almost everyday at Camella Chapel, San Pedro, Laguna, thanks to Tito Chito! πŸ™‚ Some of the service team attended the Facilitator’s training at BiΓ±an, Laguna. Also, we were able to listen to Ate July Austria‘s mini talk in preparation for the battle. This is her taking a picture with Kim Angala‘s electric guitar. πŸ™‚

And this is Kim Angala with his bestfriend in SM Muntinlupa. πŸ˜›

Although we just met the others and we barely know them, we still have some things in common, one of those is that, we are all God’s children and we all have the same goal. To win the battle. The more united we are, the stronger we will be. πŸ™‚ Here are some images of our team preparation. πŸ™‚

We were having troubles with finding a venue and a priest for the confession but last May 04, 2012, we visited and cleaned the venue. πŸ™‚ The amazing thing is that when I read the Bible reading that day, I was like “Wow! Really?” The reading was this:

“Do not be worried and upset,” Jesus told them. “Believe in God and believe also in me. There are many room in my Father’s house, and I am going to prepare a place for you. I would not tell you this if it were not so. And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back to take you to myself, so that you will be where I am. You know the place that leads to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; so how can we know the way to get there?” Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me.” — John 14:1-6

I was amazed and in shock with what I read because that’s what we really needed and the place is there, the venue is there right before us. In my mind, I was thinking, this is one of the rooms in the Father’s house which will lead us to where Jesus is going. Have a glimpse on what the venue looks like. πŸ˜›

The team. πŸ™‚

Youth camp proper. It was awesome! We had 17 participants and the speakers made a great influence on the participants because they let God enter in their hearts and used them as instruments to share his works. Thank you to the camp speakers! πŸ™‚ Thank you to, Kuya Maq Santos, Mario Humarang, Kuya Terrence Untalan, Kuya Romjay Buenaventura, and Kuya Aldwin Austria. Thank you sooo much!! πŸ™‚ According to the couple coordinators, the camp was a smooth sailing camp. Everything was on time. Although we only have a service person, not team. Haha. πŸ˜› Everything just went well. I also want to thank my friends from CFC YFC for visiting our camp. πŸ™‚

Also, our friends from CFC SFL, thank you for visiting and helping us! πŸ™‚

Thaannkk yooouuu! πŸ™‚

I gotta say, I love our Vigil room. πŸ™‚ It’s my first time to see this kind of crucifix. A back-to-back crucifix. Lovely.

And our last bonfire as a YFL and it’s “LEGEN-WAIT FOR IT-DARY!!”. Crossing over! πŸ™‚

The last day of our camp. Our successful camp.
